The secret chord (guitar)

A broken old guitar

serves me better than ever.

Because of her, the master from the Netherlands
will become a legend:

Such a sound as a reaction

of my useless fingers!

It cannot be just a common thing.

It could be explained in the same way

How those wonderful little girls

of the foggy childhood

rather chose

bums of all kinds

instead of a broken chord

selflessly offered by me.

Guitar (The secret chord)

Call my name seven times. Put your ear on the wall. Ask me who is happy, and, If such a thing really exists? How else to defend against the tyranny of sense and madness? Whenever it seems to me you sound like a song, I’d walk to the guitar. I play lousy, but I like to play and hum as you turn into that song. It happens rarely, and never in the presence of any witnesses. I don’t care if it’s just one form of masturbation. It relaxes me equally; I enjoy it and I am grateful. Thanks to you too for thoughtful conversations and for reading my futile writings. I salute you, it is guitar time. A time of song and howl.
