1.
I open my mouth
to tell you mute words
truths, persuasions, thoughts,
heavy ripe pears
hanging on the boughs
of my love.
I stutter
I break my bones
with my tongue,
the fear touches upon
my teeth, my palates,
runs down my throat.
After so many talks,
serious, light, quarrels,
jokes, gossips, theories,
monologues, dialogues, replicas,
I am afraid to speak to you.
2.
I watch you shopping
you fill in your cart with
kilos, packages and piles.
You cut the bread in the kitchen,
you make coffee,
you fix the bed,
so nobody could know
(unless they smell)
that love ended there.
You are plain, unusual,
filled with fear
that I’ll change your life.
3.
We live in fear.
You scare me with your
conformism,
I scare you with my
dedication.
I advise you to end it all
you comfort me
that I’ll get over it.
We forget and we continue
living.
In fear.
