THE CULT OF YOUTH AND THE MYTH OF “SINGLE” GIRLS AND MOTHERS

And while many women go through various emotional states and self-examinations about what is important in life, seeking a sense of freedom or emancipation from the shackles of social imprisonment, waging battles against patriarchy and chauvinism, flirting and condemning sexism, dreaming of self-determination decisions, and complete independence, we wonder if popular culture reinforces or shatters gender stereotypes? Has feminism been used as a script for fun and humor or serious criticism and condemnation of gender discrimination?

Finally, we will conclude that raising questions about body hegemony, the cult of youth, motherhood, sexuality, reproductive rights, etc. across popular culture are important drivers of anti-discrimination policies. It is necessary to create systemic solutions that would be in favor of gender equality, concrete efforts for a more responsible attitude towards the positioning of women and mothers in the labor market, as well as budgeting for gender-sensitive policies that should make real changes in society.
