Kristina Božurska was born in 1984 in Kumanovo. She graduated in 2008 from the painting department on the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje and in 2017 she obtained her MA from the Institute of Cultural Studies in Skopje in the area of social art practice. She utilizes a multitude of techniques and materials, including ready-made objects, painting, drawing, text or video. Socio-political observation is the core of her practice, everyday life and problems of contemporary living are questions incorporated in her works. She has had solo exhibitions in Bjarred, Sweden; Skopje, Kumanovo and Berlin and she has participated in a number of group exhibitions and video art festivals in the country and abroad. She had a residential stay at ISCP New York and hastaken part at Arte Utile workshop led by Tania Bruguera at the Salzburg Summer Art Academy in 20 She has won few awards: The best video in category “Nano Minute” of the International video festival in Brazil(2008); (YVAA)”Denes”, the young artist award for 20 Currently, she teaches art in the Quality International School of Skopje.
