Project Description

Born on December 20th 1950 in Satu Nou, Panciova district, Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest, 1973. He made his debut in print with the poem “Often” to “Libertatea” cultural review. His first book of poems was Walzes published by Libertatea in Panciova in 1970. Some of his books of poetry are: Ivy (1975), Poetry Cards (1977), The Physical World (1977), Work Therapy (1981), State of Fact (1984), A Young Owl in Its Death Bed (1988, 1998), Criminal Memory (anthology, 1989), Poems (anthology, 1993), The Swedish Rabbit (1997). His books of poems have been translated into Serbian and Hungarian. He received: Struga Poetry Festival Award (Macedonia, 1978), Nolit Award (Serbia, 1989), Writers’ Union of Romania Award (1997), ASPRO Award (1997). He is a member of the Writers’ Union of Romania, a founder member of the Union of Professional Romanian Writers – ASPRO, of the Writers’ Association of Voievodina (Serbia) and of PEN – CLUB.
