One afternoon, going down into the cellar you discover that it has become inhabited by monsters. You quickly decide to clean them out: their presence in the house is not hygienic, and after all, you need the space for other things. Actually, a cellar with monsters is a useless cellar – you cannot store anything in it.
You begin minute preparations for such a task: brooms and brushes, rags for burning, laundry detergent. Ah, suddenly so much work!
While descending into the darkness, you are met by evil glares, an ominous hissing of forked tongues. But your fear lasts only for a moment: then you get down to work.
What howls and screams, what scratching of claws and flapping of wings! While swinging the broom, you are encircled by tails covered with scales, beaks with two rows of teeth, ears behind which poke small horns. Once they see that they cannot frighten you, they try to induce your pity, they grovel and whimper. But you are merciless: it is your cellar and you need to make some use of it.
In the end the monsters are chased away, the cellar is cleaned out. Only a few gray feathers give witness to the drama that unfolded just moments ago.
Now you can lie down and rest. You are so tired that dreams come over you immediately.
But before long you awaken in a sweat. You understand that it is all over, finished, and that there is no longer any cure.
Who could have supposed that, once out of the cellar, they would move into your dreams?
