Frida does not end as an unhappy character, on the contrary, although in the course of the novel the word pain is most present. In Vladimir Propp’s Morphology of the Folk Tale, he says that all stories are variants of a general theme and they all have the same components: balance situation (Frida in a comfort zone after the surgery, before meeting Diego); prohibition, advice or temptation (her mother’s advice not to marry Diego seduced by his attention); narrative damage (Diego’s infidelity with Kitty); taking help to repair the narrative damage (Frida herself is the helper, as well as her success in regaining self-confidence); balance situation (remarrying Diego and his love). The desire of yearning (Diego) has been fulfilled, and thus Frida ends as a story with a happy end. And the space that was between the desire of yearning and it fulfilment was filled with moments of pleasure, glory, entertainment, apart from the pain that had been the initiator of everything. The presence of pain made her squeeze life completely. The traumas that had been with her since she was a child would ne the biggest reason for this dualism in her character.
