A Howl from the Supermarket of Dreams
Please Don’t Tell Me I’m the Only Man Who’s Forgotten How to Hate
The Mountain Path is Wet
I Just Don’t Want to Know the Score
The Best Years of Our Lives

I Just Don’t Want to Know the Score

Sometimes I want you
I kiss your feet
in the laze of a Saturday afternoon
on Sundays I take the kids for a walk
so I could forget that
from day one I’ve been
played and abandoned

so many years have passed
and you still have fun
with the remote
I shut myself off in the room
and write poems for people
I hardly know
I just don’t want to
know the score

as always
for small change
someone else will wash the dirty windshield
