Volja Gapeeva – b.1982. Minsk (Belarus)
Graduated from Minsk State Linguistic University (specialization – foreign languages and literature – English and German), French is the third, at the moment studies Chinese. MA in linguistics (2005, Minsk State Linguistic University). Now doing MA in Gender Studies at European Humanitarian University-International (Vilnius). Also lectures translation (English-Russian/Belarusian – Russian/Belarusian – English) at Minsk State Linguistic University. Curates joint foreign projects (translations) and promotes Belarusian literature abroad for the Publishing House “Logvinov”.
Writes poetry, prose and plays. Author of the book Reconstruction of the Sky (2003). At the moment prepares a new book of poetry (Unshaven Morning) and is working at her second novel. Her play The Collector was acted out at the Museum of the History of the Belarusian Literature in the framework of festival “Three Days” (books presentations of the publishing house “Logvinov”). Her works were translated into English, German, Polish, and Macedonian.
