poet, novelist, essayist, literary critic, playwright, translator, compiler of anthologies. Born 9th January 1936 in the village of Ostrilci, Krusevo. Attended Faculty of Law. Worked as a journalist and editor with Macedonian Radio. One-time President of the literary manifestation “Racinovi Sredbi” and President of the Struga Poetry Evenings Festival. Long time editor and editor-in-chief of the periodical “Razgledi”. Member of the Macedonian P.E.N Centre. Member of the Macedonian Writers’ Association since 1963.
Works: Dry Valley (poetry, 1962), Bed of thorns (poetry, 1970), Reviews and criticism (1978), Heavenly stone (poetry, 1985), Criticism responses (criticism, 1986), White Wind (poetry, 1991), The beauty of transparency (criticism, 1993), The Second original sin (poetry, 1994), Alexandar on the east (TV drama, 1994), The Black Bull (novel, 1995), No Room anywhere (novel, 1996), Bats (novel, 1998). Compiled the anthologies “Macedonian novel” (1972, co-author), “Macedonian short stories” (1974). Selection of his works has been published in four volumes.
Awards include: “Miladinov Brothers”, “13th November”, Macedonian literary foundation, “Knizevno zelezo”, “Stale Popov”, “11th October”, “Grigor Prlicev”.
Died in Skopje in 2006.
