Katherine Pierpoint’s poetry collection, Truffle Beds (Faber, 1995), was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation which has won various awards. She has held a Hawthornden International Creative Writing Fellowship, and in 1996 was named Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year. Since then, she has travelled in Egypt and India thanks to a Somerset Maugham award, enjoyed a writing residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Ireland in 1998, and attended contemporary poetry conferences in the UK, Italy and Poland. In 1999 she was the first poet-in-residence at Salisbury’s’Last Words” Festival. Her work is included in several anthologies.
