Vasil Atanasov, oboe

Virtuous technique and great knowledge for this instrument, gives an opportunity in reaching the deepest secrets of the style-aesthetic characteristics in the noted compositions.
Vasil Atanasov, very important Macedonian creative artist was born in Strumica, 1957. He started his music education in Stip, and graduated University “St. Cyril and Methodius” School of Music in Skopje, where he has earned his Master degree in oboe. Atanasov is an artist who has been proclaimed many times as “an artist with perfect musicality and interpretation technique”. He was rewarded with many prizes and diplomas as:
“Special Diploma” of the International Oboists’ competition, organized by Jeunesses Musicales in Belgrade, 1980; “Mlad Borec” award for the performance of the R. Strauss’ concerto for oboe and orchestra in 1984; Diploma (1979) and two prizes (1983 and 1989) at the Music Artists Competitions in Zagreb, Croatia; “Zlatna Lira” award, from the Macedonian Music Artists Association, for the “best artistic work in 1989”; “13 Noemvri” a city of Skopje award for the “particular achievements in music performance for the year 1991”.
From 1980, Atanasov is the soloist-first oboist in the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra. Member of the Skopje wind quintet, oboe professor in the School of Music “Ilija Nikolovski-Luj” in Skopje, and 1988 was appointed for chamber music assistant professor, at University “St. Cyril and Methodius” School of Music.
He has performed as a soloist in many countries as Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Greece, Romania, Korea, former Yugoslavia… many orchestras as, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Macedonian Radio and TV Chamber Orchestra, Zagreb soloists chamber orchestra, Macedonian Chamber Orchestra, Zurich Trio from Switzerland, Chamber Orchestra of the State conservatoire in Hanoi, Gaidov quartet, Macedonian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Romanica etc. In Macedonia, he was performing on the most important musical manifestations as Ohrid Summer Festival, Skopje Summer Festival, and Days of Macedonian Music, also Craiova International Festival, International Festivals in Plovdiv, Ljubljana, Herzeg Novi, Seoul etc.
Wonderful sound of his oboe was noted on many recordings made for different radio and TVs. Therefore, his 3rd CD was produced, recently.
